My Troubled Mind is a 6 part series for BBC Teach. Through real testimony, this series explores teenage mental health. It will act as a springboard for discussions on mental ill-health in PSHE lessons in secondary school - a topic that is still widely misunderstood and unrecognised. It covers a variety of topics, from self harm, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and addiction.

The powerful stories of Sam and Aneekah, explaining what it is like when you are battling anxiety and the different reasons it can develop. 

India’s story

A story of how anxiety and insecurity lead a young woman named India to self-harm and the journey of her struggle to seek help and her road to recovery. 

 

Eleanor’s story

The story of Eleanor and how stresses and internalising feelings at school lead to depression, feelings of low self-esteem and eventually suicidal thoughts.

Jack’s story

This is the painful but hopeful story of Jack and how issues at home and at school lead him to develop an eating disorder which spiralled out of control until he sought help.

 

Chloe’s story

A powerful account of Chloe’s testimony which is the story of how neglect and abuse at home led to an addiction to drugs and the difficulties related to addiction. 

Ryan’s story

Ryan’s story of how being bullied at school, racist attacks and feeling isolated from his family triggered serious problems with his mental health.
